Job summary

Dorset Council UK is recruiting Midday Supervisors for Bridport Primary School to join our lunchtime team. We have 3 fixed-term positions: 7.5, 4.5 and 3 hours per week, to supervise pupils and ensure a safe, engaging lunchtime environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 12.00-1.30pm, with the salaries listed in the notice. A driving licence and transport are required for travel across the Trust’s sites. Start date October 2026. Closing date 25 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Good timekeeping and reliability.
• Caring and confident when dealing with pupils.
• Clear communication with staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in dining areas, playground, or classrooms.
• Ensure pupils are safe and secure at all times.
• Encourage polite dining and calm, orderly behaviour.
• Model positive conduct and report serious issues to staff.
• Assist with light duties: clean spillages, tidy tables, pack away.
• Provide welfare support to pupils during lunchtimes.
• Create a happy, engaging lunchtime experience.
• Support school aims and work as part of a team.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to training.
