Job summary

Stambridge Primary School is recruiting a Midday Assistant to run the lunchtime period for its pupils. The role focuses on supervising the lunch hall, encouraging imaginative play indoors and out, managing behaviour and giving first aid.

The post offers short midday shifts with two weekly timetables, and is suitable for people who need to fit work around other commitments. DBS, references and safeguarding checks are required; starting November 2026.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check including children's barred list check
• Satisfactory references meeting KCSIE requirements
• Satisfactory online search
• Satisfactory application form
• Prohibition from teaching check where applicable
• Enthusiasm for working with children

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the lunch hall
• Encourage imaginative play outside and indoors when it rains
• Ensure the good behaviour of pupils
• Administer first aid
• Help maintain a safe, happy and secure lunchtime environment
