Job summary

St Matthew’s CE Primary School invites applications for a Midday Assistant. The role supports a safe, happy lunchtime for pupils, supervising children and helping maintain positive behaviour and inclusion during the lunch period.

Working 6.25 hours per week, term-time only (38 weeks). DBS enhanced check required. Salary is Band 1 Point 3 (£25,614 pro rata) with actual salary £3,701 per annum. Closing date 13 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience with children is desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Able to contribute to a safe and inclusive lunchtime environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime and playtimes.
• Support positive behaviour and relationships among pupils.
• Ensure pupils are safe, included and able to enjoy their lunchtime.
• Assist with safeguarding as required during the lunch period.
