Job summary

Sprites Primary Academy in Ipswich is looking for a friendly Midday Assistant to join our caring lunchtime team. You will help children enjoy a safe, positive lunchtime experience, support table manners and use of cutlery, and coordinate engaging play activities.

You will promote good behaviour, assist with minor first aid, and help create a calm, welcoming environment for all pupils. Experience with primary-aged children and a genuine commitment to safeguarding are valued at our school.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary aged children
• A basic understanding of child development
• Enthusiasm and dedication for supporting pupils during lunchtime
• Responsible and reliable
• Confident working with young people and able to maintain positive behaviour
• Able to build good relationships with both children and adults

Responsibilities

• Support children with table manners and use of cutlery during lunch
• Coordinate a range of fun and engaging play activities
• Promote positive behaviour throughout lunchtime
• Administer minor first aid and ensure welfare and safety of all children
