Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring Lunchtime Support Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Daventry. You will help create a safe, positive lunchtime environment and supervise pupils in the dining hall and during outdoor play.

You will support children with behaviour, independence and confidence, work closely with staff, and follow safeguarding procedures to ensure pupils are safe, happy and well supported during the lunch period.

Qualifications

  • A caring, patient approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional.
  • Reliable and committed to safeguarding children's wellbeing.
  • Previous experience with children is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to work as part of a busy school team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils throughout the lunchtime routine.
  • Supervising children in the dining hall and during outdoor play.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, social interaction and good manners.
  • Helping children to develop independence and confidence.
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional guidance or reassurance.
  • Ensuring pupils are safe and following school rules and expectations.
  • Responding appropriately to minor incidents and reporting concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Following safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.

Job description

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Lunchtime Support Assistant to join one of our valued mainstream primary school partners in Daventry.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils during their lunchtime and outdoor activities. As a Lunchtime Support Assistant, you will help create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment for pupils. You will support children in the dining hall, encourage positive behaviour and social interaction, and supervise pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities. You will work closely with teaching staff and other members of the school team to ensure children are safe, happy and supported throughout the lunchtime period.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 11:45am - 1:15pm Term Time Only
