Job summary

Arthur Bugler Primary School invites applications for a Midday Assistant role, delivering supervision at lunchtimes within a vibrant, inclusive setting. The post requires supervising children in the playground and dining hall, escorting pupils between areas, and supporting personal care where needed.

The position is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, with a November 2026 start date and term-time hours. Hours are 5 per week (12:10pm–1:10pm, Mon–Fri) across 38 terms.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising children during lunchtimes.
• Ability to escort pupils between dining hall and playground.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and support for pupils.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the children to encourage good social skills and will lead outdoor activities to encourage participation
• Encourage healthy eating, preparing the tables, supervise playing with the children outside, supervising the clearing up of games and toys, administering first aid and using the school’s behaviour plan
• Ensure the safety and care of pupils who are injured or unwell & provide comfort if distressed
• Assist children with Personal Care where necessary
