Dovetail and Slate Limited in the South West is recruiting five Learning Support Assistants to help students with additional needs. You will work one-to-one and in classrooms, supporting pupils with SEND and helping them engage with lessons and goals.

You will need experience with SEND, understanding of EHCP, a calm, patient approach, and an enhanced DBS Update Service. The role involves safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment, with checks and right to work.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with SEND.
• Understanding EHCP and how it informs support.
• Confidence working both one-to-one and in a classroom setting.
• Enhanced DBS Update Service is in place.

About the Role

You will provide dedicated support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, working alongside teaching staff to help every learner engage with their studies and reach their individual goals. You'll bring patience, encouragement and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

Working both one to one and in the classroom, you'll adapt your approach to suit different needs, creating a supportive environment where students feel able to develop and thrive. This is a contract role with a further education provider in the South West, with five positions available.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and classroom-based support to students with SEND.
• Working closely with teaching staff to help learners engage with lessons and activities.
• Encouraging students to build confidence, independence and practical skills.
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
• Supporting learners in line with their individual EHCP requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs
• An understanding of what an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) is and how it informs support
• Confidence working both one to one and within a classroom setting
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Patience, encouragement and a genuine commitment to inclusive education
