Job description

LSA – Primary School in Gravesend

We’re looking for a classroom hero (cape optional) to join a brilliant school in Gravesend as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). If you’ve got a passion for inclusion, a knack for communication, and the patience of a saint (or at least someone who doesn’t flinch when glitter gets everywhere), this one’s for you! Fun Fact: Gravesend is home to the world’s oldest cast iron pier, built in 1834 and still standing strong. Just like the kind of support you’ll be giving in the classroom: solid, reliable, and occasionally holding up a lot of weight!

Contract: Full time – September start

Salary: £90 - £100 per day

What You’ll Be Doing (aka Your Superpowers):

  • Supporting students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) to access learning and thrive
  • Using scaffolding techniques to break down learning into manageable, confidence-boosting steps
  • Championing inclusive practices that celebrate every learner’s unique strengths
  • Building strong, positive communication with students, staff, and parents
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where everyone feels seen and heard

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (bonus points if it’s in a school setting!)
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and how to support them in practice
  • A team player with a great sense of humour and a heart of gold

Benefits:

  • Access to tailored professional development and CPD opportunities.
  • A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
  • Competitive pay rates and flexible working options.
  • Opportunities to connect with a network of educators and schools.
  • Referral bonus scheme – Earn up to £150 when you refer a friend.
