A prominent healthcare organization in Scotland is hiring a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to provide care in a busy environment. The role involves assessing patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting a new weekend service initiative. Band 7 Occupational Therapist covering Medicine and Unscheduled Care.
Based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
Permanent post 37 hours per week
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, person centered and highly motivated clinician to be part of the Occupational Therapy service in the Medicine and Unscheduled Care Portfolio.
The successful applicant will be joining a well-established, successful and friendly team, working alongside another Band 7 Occupational Therapist. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and flexible in their approach, and is able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership in the assessment and management of patients presenting on the medical pathways.
Using their clinical expertise the successful candidate will work collaboratively to provide safe and effective care. They will work with a diverse range of patients with various and at times multiple complex co‑morbidities. Some of this patient group may be boarded to other ward areas within ARI, where support will continue to be required. They will help facilitate early discharges, working as a core member of the MDT. They will develop and maintain strong relationships within the Occupational Therapy team, the MDT on the wards and other professional groups and services across NHS Grampian. They will play an integral role in assisting teams and colleagues to confidently apply the home first principles.
This post holder will be part of a newly developing service which will be providing service to this patient group over 7 days a week. They will need to work collaboratively to ensure the delivery and embedding of change. They must be able to work well under pressure and be able to challenge the multi‑disciplinary team, in a constructive manner to ensure safe and appropriate patient care is offered at all times. They will be responsible for the line management and performance management of a team of staff.
They will be a core part of our new weekend service at commencement of this post as NHS Grampian’s Occupational Therapy team is proactively working towards services over 7 days.
