Retail Catering Supervisor
Royal Cornhill Hospital Cafe

We are looking for someone to oversee the general duties involved in providing patients, staff and visitors with a high quality, customer focused, and safe retail beverage and foodservice.

Day-to-day you will supervise the operation and cleanliness of the Retail Units and their associated equipment, ensuring high levels of food safety, service and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for ensuring that all staff within your team are working efficiently, safely, and delivering the highest standards of customer care.

Band 3

Hours: 37 Hours per week – 7.00am until 15.00pm, but must be flexible

To apply for this post, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience working face to face with the public in a busy, fast paced customer-service centred role which meets the customer expectations.
  • Experience of food and drink service.
  • Retail, food & beverage service knowledge acquired through training and experience.
  • Ability to undertake & retain knowledge through induction & on-the-job training relating to HACCP, food safety, customer service and health & safety.
  • Customer service focused with good communication skills & attention to detail.
  • Numerate, literate & practical with the ability to use initiative.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Working knowledge of EPOS tills, contactless payment transactions & previous cash handling experience.
  • Health & safety conscious.
  • Calm, pleasant disposition.
  • Person-centred with a genuine interest in working with the public.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • The ability to lead and inspire a Team to deliver the highest standards across the business.
