NHS Grampian is seeking a Specialist Medical Engineering Technician (Band 6) to join their Medical Equipment Management Service. The role involves servicing and maintaining a variety of medical devices across clinical areas. Candidates should have strong engineering experience and excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and integrity. This position is primarily based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, with duties extending across related Health Board sites.
The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) at NHS Grampian has a vacancy for a Band 6 Specialist Medical Engineering Technician. We seek an experienced technician to join a team specializing in servicing, maintaining, and managing a range of reusable electronic patient-applied equipment, including pumps, monitors, diagnostic, and theatre equipment. All equipment is used across clinical areas throughout the Grampian region.
Applicants should have experience in electrical/mechanical engineering and demonstrate post-qualification technical training and experience supporting a broad range of medical equipment. Specific training on various medical devices will be provided.
High personal integrity and empathetic people skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a small team providing technical support to critical care and other clinical areas.
The primary base for this role is Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen. However, duties will extend across related Health Board sites as needed. A valid driving licence is therefore essential.
