Overview

Support the care of labor, delivery, and postpartum women and newborns before, during, and after vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

Responsibilities
  • Open rooms for expected patients, set up epidural equipment, and supplies
  • Set up for vaginal deliveries and extensive vaginal laceration repairs
  • Assist with pushing as needed and support RN after delivery with mom and baby
  • Follow established aseptic techniques and demonstrate knowledge of instrument usage and case setup
  • Prepare rooms for C/S and other procedures, check case carts for supplies
  • Set up and scrub for various procedures including deliveries, repairs, tubal ligation, and dilation & curettage
  • Break down instruments, clean, and prepare for sterilization
  • Prepare postpartum rooms, stock supplies, and care for newborns
  • Perform general patient care, vital signs, ambulation, and transport
  • Assist with administrative tasks like answering phones and documentation
Qualifications

Embrace principles of family-centered and baby-friendly care. Develop a 'Surgical Conscience'.

Required: LPN certification, NRP certification prior to end of orientation

Skills and Competencies

Clear communication skills, basic computer knowledge, confidentiality, crisis management, customer service skills.

Credentials

Essential: LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse, BLS certification

Education

Graduate of an accredited LPN program

USD $25.11/Hr.

Maximum Compensation

USD $38.92/Hr.
