Job summary

North Bristol NHS Trust invites applications for a Microvascular Surgery Clinical Fellow post in Lower Limb Reconstruction. This 6-month fixed-term contract is on call and 40 hours per week, based at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The candidate should be in year 7/8 of plastic surgery training, have FRCS (Plast) and GMC registration, with special interest in microsurgery. Teaching and audit involvement are expected, with training recognition by SAC/Royal College.

Qualifications

• MBBS and FRCS (Plast) required.
• ATLS credential preferred.
• Maintain GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Evidence of CME/ training progression at this career stage.
• Higher academic qualification (MD/MS) advantageous.
• Completion of a management course or programme.
• Minimum 7 years postgraduate experience including 2 years as SHO.
• Training in microsurgery or related skills.
• Experience with UK hospital systems or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Teach and undertake clinical audit projects.
• Attend specialist clinics in ortho–plastic surgery.
• Contribute to training and research publications.
• Post is recognised for training by SAC in Plastic Surgery and Royal College approval.
