Job summary

Harrington Starr in London seeks a Systems Engineer to join the London-based infrastructure team. You will help maintain and enhance a bespoke trading platform and related engines, ensuring low-latency operation and high availability.

You will work across office and exchange colocation environments with a global team of experts, collaborating with traders, quants and developers to optimise performance and reliability, including testing new hardware.

Qualifications

• BSc Computer Science or a related degree.
• Solid experience with RHEL derivatives, Bios/Kernel Tuning and Optimizations for Ultra Low Latency Trading.
• Strong experience networking in a Linux environment with a solid background in networking.
• Strong scripting experience surrounding Perl, Bash, Python, Ruby etc.
• Exposure to VMWare and SAN infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure within offices and exchange colocation environments.
• Interact with a global team to ensure trading functionality is optimal.
• Build and enhance the company’s trading platform and test new hardware for low-latency, scalable solutions

Hybrid - 3 days in the office

Location: London, City

A globally recognised independent trading business that have a strong focus around market making, brokerage services and low latency algorithmic trading are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join their London-based infrastructure team. The role will help towards enhancing and maintaining their bespoke trading platform and associated trading engines.

The successful Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure within my client’s offices and at exchange colocation environments, as well as interacting with a global team of experts and ensuring trading functionality is being carried out at an optimum level.

In order to be considered for the role the following is important:
