Job summary

Vertus Partners is seeking a C++ Low Latency Developer to join our front office electronic trading team focused on Equities market making and execution technology. This hybrid role sits beside traders and researchers, delivering high-performance systems and production-ready code.

You will design and evolve latency-sensitive components, migrate existing apps to modern C++, and translate business needs into robust solutions with traders.

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial experience building low latency applications in modern C++.
  • Experience with front office trading systems in financial markets.
  • Understanding of electronic trading, market making or algorithmic execution platforms.
  • Ability to engage confidently with trading and business stakeholders.
  • Production delivery of performance-sensitive software.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance trading systems used by an Equities market making business.
  • Deliver enhancements to latency-sensitive components across the electronic trading stack.
  • Help drive migration and optimisation of existing trading applications into modern C++ environments.
  • Work closely with traders and quantitative researchers to translate business requirements into production solutions.
  • Partner with technology, risk and control functions to ensure robust delivery of new functionality.
  • Take ownership of strategic initiatives that directly impact trading performance and scalability.
