Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) seeks a C++ Engineer to join our live trading platforms. C++ is at the center of our research infrastructure, and you will work on high-performance, fault-tolerant systems powering trading across global markets.

You will collaborate with researchers, traders, and hardware specialists to optimize latency, implement scalable infrastructure, and integrate with FPGA/ASIC interfaces. Strong UNIX/Linux experience and proven problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced C++ experience required, daily use preferred.
• Knowledge of UNIX operating systems (we use Linux) and network communication.
• Superior design, debugging, and problem solving skills.
• Capable of solving complex engineering problems independently and guiding others.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize infrastructure for market data, order entry, and execution logic across asset classes.
• Design fault-tolerant, low-latency systems for live trading and recover from hardware failures.
• Profile and improve performance-critical code for throughput and latency in production.
• Build and maintain infrastructure that supports distributed networks and scalable research workflows.
• Interface with specialized hardware such as FPGAs and ASICs used in trading systems.
