The role entails conducting regular store visits, targeting the relevant focus 35 shrink stores. The Loss Prevention Manager will complete thorough investigations aligned to established thresholds and will enforce corporate policy and governance standards. The role will partner with senior retail leadership to enhance execution, accountability, and adherence to processes that have a positive impact to operational performance and reduce risk. This role covers geography across Yorkshire, Teesside, Tyneside and East Scotland.

  • Store/Senior Leadership Engagement and Support:
    • Conduct store visits to the relevant Focus 35 shrink-performing stores, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing actionable recommendations.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate loss prevention policies and escalate non-compliance to senior leadership.
    • Collaborate with senior retail leadership to align on priorities, share insights, and propose solutions to improve shrink performance.
    • Participate in Senior Leadership forums to share strategy and deliver key shrink-related messages.
  • Investigations:
    • Lead investigations into shrink and security-related incidents, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
    • Document findings and recommend corrective measures for identified issues.
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive investigations.
    • Support investigations into serious incidents such as violence and malicious acts beyond theft.
  • Data and Performance Monitoring:
    • Analyse shrink data to identify trends, emerging risks, and inform strategy.
  • Emergency Incident Response/On-Call:
    • Participate in the Loss Prevention on-call rota, providing out-of-hours and weekend support.
    • Attend sites as necessary, depending on the nature and severity of incidents.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Preferred In-depth knowledge of loss prevention strategies and shrink control processes.
    • Experience with retail operations, process and policy.
    • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement actionable solutions.
    • Experience in root-cause analysis and data-driven decision-making.
    • Preferred experience in investigations with relevant accreditations e.g. Whicklander
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and store teams.
    • Effective coaching skills and adaptability to different team levels.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Problem-Solving & Initiative:
    • Proactive in identifying and addressing challenges.
    • Excellent at prioritising and managing multiple investigations and projects.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality:
    • Strong understanding of regulatory and ethical requirements for investigations and reporting.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Flexibility & Travel:
    • Willingness to travel regularly to stores within your division.
    • Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to work independently.
