The Role

We currently have an opportunity for building professionals to join our Subsidence Team within our Subsidence Services Division.

We are looking for candidates in both the Northeast and Southeast areas of England.

You will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while conducting site visits with policyholders. You will work closely with team members and service providers, managing a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims from notification to conclusion, dealing with diagnosis, mitigation, and repairs. Our service is provided via digital technology for remote diagnosis and meetings throughout the UK, or on-site face-to-face diagnosis and visits in your local area. Candidates should be comfortable with both services, depending on capacity requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Obtained or working towards chartered building professional qualification, e.g., MCIOB, MRICS, MICE, and ideally an insurance qualification, e.g., CILA or CII
• Detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings
• Ability to diagnose the cause of subsidence or other damage
• Understanding of mitigation techniques to prevent ongoing subsidence damage
• Knowledge of repair techniques for damaged buildings and drainage, especially regarding subsidence damage
• Experience in insurance claims handling is advantageous but not essential (training provided)
• Decisiveness, excellent customer service, communication, and empathy skills
• Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office and Apple apps, and ability to operate Windows and Apple hardware
• Knowledge of CDM and Party Wall legislation
• Ability to work remotely, manage workload, and deliver professional advice to claimants and insurers
• Full UK driving license
