Regional Role (Scotland)

£18.75 per hour + Benefits

Fully mobile role with hotel stays & travel expenses covered


Are you an experienced HIAB Relief Driver with expertise in operating lorry loader cranes? Are you passionate about safety, compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service? If so, this is the opportunity for you!


As a Relief Driver, you will play a vital role in covering driver vacancies, absences, and operational needs across one of our six regions. This dynamic, fully mobile position involves a variety of assignments, including overnight stays and weekend travel.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Safely transport modular structures and storage units using our fleet of lorry loader cranes (31 tonne to 82 tonne).
  • Operate a HIAB crane and manage deliveries effectively, ensuring excellent customer service and safety standards.
  • Report any safety issues or incidents promptly, ensuring compliance and risk management.
  • Work as part of the tanker team to meet customer service calls.
  • Ensure all vehicle safety checks are completed, with reports submitted if required.
  • Travel to various locations within your regional area, with overnight stays as needed.


What We Need From You:
  • Valid Class 1 HGV Driving Licence and DCPC.
  • Experience with HIAB lorry loader cranes (31 tonne to 82 tonne), including hook experience.
  • Previous experience with artic and wagon & drag combinations.
  • CPCS/ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
  • Flexibility to work across various locations, with overnight stays and limited notice travel.


What You Can Expect:
  • Hotel stays provided for overnight assignments (no need to arrange or pay).
  • Meals included with overnight stays (dinner and breakfast).
  • Fuel expenses reimbursed at 45p per mile (for the first 10,000 miles annually).
  • Travel time: While travel expenses are covered, time for travel is not compensated.
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for anything over 40 hours.
  • Monthly pay on the 25th of each month, with expense claims processed via the Concur system.
