Job summary

GXO Logistics is hiring a Class 2 HIAB Driver (Brick Grab) for our Store to Home team in Barnsley. The role is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday from 07:00, 40 hours per week.

Pay is £15.76 per hour (£32,780.80 annually) with overtime at £23.64 beyond 40 hours, plus 28 days leave, dental insurance, a pension, and access to GXO benefits and training platforms. You’ll handle deliveries, loading, and customer communications to ensure a high-quality service.

Qualifications

• UK driving licence with category C entitlement.
• Valid HIAB brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent).
• Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC) in date.
• Digital Tachograph card held and valid.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer queries politely and effectively, ensuring deliveries arrive in excellent condition.
• Assist with loading deliveries and returns, supporting Store/Hub office and AOM to keep schedules on track.
• Keep customers informed of delivery times and any issues, communicating politely when delays occur.
• Ensure customer goods are transported safely to the kerbside and in an efficient manner.

Job description

Are you an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver with a brick grab lorry loader licence? Do you take pride in delivering exceptional service and bringing B&Q products straight to customers' doorsteps? Here at GXO, we're working together with B&Q and are looking for a Class 2 HIAB Driver (Brick Grab) to join our Store to Home team in Barnsley (S730TB).

You'll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Monday to Friday, with a start time of 07:00, contracted to 40 hours per week.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Handle customer queries politely and effectively, ensure every delivery arrives in excellent condition, and build strong rapport through positive interactions with both internal and external customers
• Make sure every return and collection is spot on, jump in to support B&Q with vehicle loading whenever needed, and quickly alert the Store/Hub office and AOM to any delivery issues so everything keeps moving smoothly
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and where issues occur the customer is communicated with in a polite and courteous manner
• Ensure customers goods are transported safely onto the kerbside and in an efficient manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• A full UK driving licence with category C entitlement
• A valid HIAB licence with brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent)
• A valid Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
• Be in possession of a valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
