Job summary

A family-run timber company in the United Kingdom is seeking an Apprentice Joiner. This is an opportunity to develop both traditional craftsmanship and modern joinery skills while being part of a dedicated team. You will assist in manufacturing bespoke wooden products and support the team with various tasks in a safe environment. Working hours include a standard week with alternate Saturdays.

Qualifications

A permanent joinery position with opportunities to progress into specialist craftsmanship or supervisory roles within the business.

As an Apprentice Joiner, you’ll be part of a team with over 120 years of expertise at Duncombe Sawmill, specialising in bespoke wooden garden and driveway gates, garden furniture, and more.

A typical week could involve:

  • Assisting with the design and manufacture of tailor-made timber gates and furniture.
  • Measuring, cutting, and preparing high-quality timber.
  • Safely using hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Helping with installation of joinery products.
  • Supporting with deliveries, stock handling, and maintaining a safe, tidy workshop.
  • Working closely with skilled joiners to bring customers’ visions to life.
  • This is a chance to learn traditional craftsmanship while developing modern joinery skills for a long-term career.
  • Interacting with customers to understand their needs and see how craftsmanship brings their ideas to life.

Monday: 7.30am till 5pm. Tuesday: 7.30am till 5pm. Wednesday: 7.30am till 5pm. Thursday: 7.30 am till 5pm. Friday: 7.30am till 4pm. Saturday: 8.00am till 12pm (working alternate Saturdays). Sunday: n/a.
