A leading company is seeking an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to support the MASH Team at Wirral Council, responsible for managing referrals and providing crucial oversight. The role demands qualified social workers with significant experience in childcare settings, aiming to deliver exceptional services to children and families.
Job Title: Advanced - Social Work Practitioner
Location: Wirral
Justification Description: Long term sickness cover
Rate: GBP 39/hour
Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic, and engaged communities. The council and its partners have pledged to meet ambitious targets by 2025. To achieve this, we need driven individuals committed to delivering the best for our communities.
We have an exciting opportunity to work for Wirral Council within the Integrated Front Door MASH Team as an Advanced Practitioner. We are seeking qualified and experienced social workers to join Wirral’s Integrated Front Door Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
Wirral’s MASH is the front door for all new referrals for children who may need early help support or social care intervention. It makes important decisions about which services children need. We are committed to delivering excellent social work practice and services to children and families, aiming to make the right decisions at the right time to set a positive journey for all children.
As a MASH Advanced Social Worker, you will work within a structure of the MASH teams, aligned to one team manager. Your responsibilities will include managing daily allocations of MASH referrals, providing oversight, direction, and authorization. Candidates should have significant post-qualifying experience, a recognized social work qualification, and be SWE registered. A minimum of two years post-qualifying experience in a statutory childcare setting is required.
Prior MASH experience is useful but not essential. Candidates should demonstrate good experience and skills in front-line settings, working with complex needs and risks, and making effective, timely decisions involving child protection, child in need, and Early Help interventions. Experience working positively with partner agencies and developing collaborative relationships with children and families is essential. Candidates should also have a good understanding of legislative frameworks, relevant research, national developments, and policies related to children's social care.
