Job summary

Randstad Education in Bolton is seeking two Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support Year 8–11 pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4, providing essential classroom assistance and targeted intervention in a mainstream secondary school. These full-time roles offer long-term stability and potential permanent contracts for top performers.

You will work with subject teachers to help pupils overcome barriers, build confidence, and improve attainment while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• GCSE English and Maths: Grade 4 or above.
• Experience with secondary pupils (Years 8–11).
• Strong communication and ability to build rapport with teenagers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and learning materials for Years 8–11.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan activities and maintain a positive environment.
• Liaise with teachers, TAs and pastoral staff to ensure pupil welfare and progress.
• Work with other support staff across the school.
• Support full classes, intervention groups and one-to-one pupils.
• Monitor pupil engagement and support academic progress, confidence and behaviour.
