Job description

Long term Locum Physio required for the whole of 2018 in East Sussex, East Sussex

Sirona Medical is seeking a locum Physiotherapist to cover a long-term role in East Sussex, starting in April 2018. This position is located in a coastal town and is expected to run until the end of 2018, with potential extension into 2019. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and flexible working options, including part-time (3 days/week) or full-time (5 days/week).

Role Responsibilities
  • Cover Physiotherapy duties in an Inpatient Physiotherapy Unit
  • Manage day services and outpatient referrals
  • Develop and resume gym services
  • Participate in breathlessness clinics
  • Collaborate with volunteers and junior staff to develop services
  • Work independently or within a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, GPs, health visitors, district nurses, and social workers
  • Supervise support staff such as physiotherapy assistants
Essential Requirements
  • HCPC Membership
  • Experience in Respiratory, Neuro, MSK, Orthopaedics, and Care of the Elderly Physiotherapy
  • Experience in adaptive rehabilitation, goal setting, and discharge planning
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Patient-centered approach and ability to work under pressure
  • Resilient, flexible, and good time management skills
Desirable Skills
  • CSP Membership
  • Membership in ACPOPC or Agile groups
  • Experience in palliative care and working with therapy assistants or volunteers
