Job summary

Ringway Infrastructure Services in Beckton/London is seeking an experienced Structures Inspector to support inspection and management of highway structures across the Central London framework. This role blends site inspections with office-based technical reporting to ensure safety, performance and maintenance of bridges and other assets.

You will carry out General and Principal Inspections across multiple boroughs, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to asset management decisions.

Qualifications

• The candidate should hold a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent HNC/HND with relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in bridges/structures inspections for degree-qualified candidates.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience for HNC/HND-qualified candidates.
• Experience undertaking General and/or Principal Inspections of highway structures.
• Strong technical report writing and analytical skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out General Inspections (GI) and Principal Inspections (PI) of bridges and highway structures.
• Assess structure condition and identify defects and maintenance needs.
• Produce clear, detailed technical inspection reports.
• Review findings and support asset management decisions.
• Undertake inspections across the Central London framework and highway networks.
• Work safely in live highway environments, including night-time inspections as required.
• Support emergency inspections and standby call-out activities.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver inspection programmes.
