Main duties are as follows:

To assist the communication needs of clients with a range of needs. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute appropriate intervention under guidance from SLT, individually or in groups.
  • Support indirect actions of SLT such as compiling programmes, reviewing, prioritising, and scheduling support.
  • Continuous evaluation of treatment outcomes and review.
  • Attend case discussions alongside treating SLT.
  • Advocate for child and family needs.
  • Flag to treating SLT additional areas of need.
  • Be responsible for managing a defined caseload under guidance of SLT.
  • Work under the guidance of treating SLTs and team lead.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other professions and agencies, particularly schools.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for each client.
  • Maintain clinical space and resources, and perform set duties.
  • Support SLTs within their day-to-day roles.
  • Take responsibility for own learning and development.

Managing own Performance and Development

  • Adhere to policies and procedures related to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection; report concerns accordingly.
  • Contribute to the ethos, work, and aims of the company.
  • Support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and performance management.
  • Achieve professional goals and take responsibility for professional development.
  • Maintain records of CPD, supervision, and professional development plans.
  • Seek learning opportunities internally and externally.
  • Be prepared to perform duties required.
  • Manage own sick leave and follow reporting procedures.

Team Role

  • Attend and contribute to team and department meetings.
  • Contribute to team, service developments, and projects within LCP.
  • Liaise with relevant professionals and contribute to multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings.
  • Provide reports, information, and advice on client needs.
  • Disseminate knowledge and training within LCP.

Clinical Governance

  • Adhere to national and local standards for professional practice and maintain quality standards.
  • Follow HCPC ethics and guidelines within scope of practice.
  • Develop clinical expertise and achieve personal and professional development goals, referencing ROT guidelines.
  • Be punctual and prepared for work.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical developments, legislation, employer policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with health & safety, safeguarding policies, and guidelines.
  • Represent LCP’s core values at all times.
  • Notify LCP of any changes to registration or criminal history.
