Job summary

Sellick Partnership is acting for a leading UK construction practice in London to recruit an Associate (1-3 PQE) into non-contentious construction. The role offers exposure to high-value development projects, with training, early responsibility and genuine long-term progression.

You will advise developers, funders and investors, draft and negotiate construction documents, perform due diligence and collaborate with Real Estate, Finance, Planning and Corporate teams to support major developments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1-3 years' PQE in non-contentious construction.
• Trained and qualified with a reputable City or large national law firm.
• Strong academic background.
• Experience advising developers, investors, lenders or other commercial clients.
• Solid understanding of JCT, NEC and other standard construction contracts.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive and keen to develop within a market-leading team.

Responsibilities

• Advising developers, landlords, funders and investors on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters.
• Drafting and negotiating construction documentation, including building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, third-party rights, guarantees and letters of intent.
• Assisting with the construction aspects of commercial real estate, development, property finance and corporate transactions.
• Carrying out due diligence and preparing construction due diligence reports.
• Working closely with specialists across Real Estate, Finance, Planning and Corporate teams on major development projects.
• Supporting business development initiatives and helping to build long-term client relationships.
