Job summary

Figma is seeking software engineering interns to contribute to multiple layers of our product and infrastructure from our London hub. You will join small, collaborative teams, pair with mentors, and work on meaningful features or tools with real impact.

You’ll learn, ship, and grow while gaining exposure to internal systems and open collaboration across engineering, PM, design, and QA. You’ll be exposed to areas like product features, platform tooling, security-focused work, and exploratory

Qualifications

• Experience writing clean code in at least one general-purpose language (e.g. C++, JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.), with a solid grasp of core CS concepts like data structures and algorithms
• Experience solving technical problems through school, work, or personal projects
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to write, debug, and optimize code
• Demonstrated curiosity about how systems are designed and operate, from infrastructure to UI
• Strong communicator who asks great questions, collaborates well with others, and is excited to learn, get feedback, and grow as an engineer

Responsibilities

• Join a small engineering team as a full member of the team, with your own project and mentor
• Contribute to projects that directly align with team goals and impact
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and QA to break down features and plan timelines
• Build, document, and maintain tests, features, or infrastructure
• Share feedback and participate in peer code review
• Ship your project(s) by the end of your internship!
• Work alongside mentors to understand production systems and tooling
• Learn across different layers of product and infrastructure
