Job summary

BT Group’s Consumer division seeks a Consumer Product Lawyer to provide pragmatic legal advice on product, proposition and advertising initiatives across BT, EE and Plusnet. You will work with stakeholders in Consumer Proposition, Product and Marketing to support the development and launch of new offerings and campaigns.

You will help maintain templates and playbooks, contribute to risk assessments, and explore AI-enabled tools to streamline routine queries and legal processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with relevant post-qualification experience (2+ years preferred).
• Exposure to telecoms or regulated environments is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Consumer Law within omni-channel sales and business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic legal advice on BT, EE and Plusnet product, proposition and advertising projects.
• Collaborate with Consumer Proposition, Product and Marketing to support development and launch of new products and campaigns.
• Develop and maintain a central knowledge repository with templates, playbooks and risk assessments.
• Evaluate and implement AI tools to automate routine legal queries and improve efficiency.
• Support management of small claims litigation by reviewing documentation and advising on Consumer Law risk.
• Build strong working relationships with Marketing, Digital, Consumer Legal and Regulatory Affairs to enable joined-up legal support.
• Deliver clear, risk-based reporting to senior stakeholders for informed commercial decisions.
• Contribute to horizon-scanning for developments in Consumer Law and compliance requirements.
• Share knowledge and support colleagues to deliver high-quality legal advice across the function.
