BT Group is seeking a Data Lawyer to support the Legal, CoSec & Regulatory Affairs division across data, privacy, AI and security matters. You will advise business stakeholders—from sales to product—on regulatory compliance and commercial risk in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes practical, clear guidance, collaboration with data lawyers and compliance specialists, and ongoing learning about evolving data laws. A competitive package reflects senior PQE requirements and UK operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years PQE in a Data Lawyer capacity.
• Experience with UK GDPR, PECR, DORA.
• Commercial, pragmatic advice on data, privacy and AI matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal advice on data issues across BT Group businesses.
• Advise procurement and product teams on data & AI provisions in contracts.
• Draft legal opinions and risk assessments for stakeholders.
• Assist with data protection impact assessments and incident response.
• Share knowledge on evolving data, digital and AI laws and guidance.
• Provide training on data law topics to non-legal teams.
