Help us make a difference as a Logistics Supervisor at our Plastics Recycling Facility in Seaham.Salary: £15.74 per hourShifts: Different weekly shifts, working either 07:00 - 15:00 or 10:00 - 18:00.A quick look at the role.The Logistics Supervisor will supervise Logistics Operators ensuring shifts are covered and activities are performed safely. To operate a Forklift Truck to a safe and satisfactory standard. To ensure equipment is inspected and maintained to a high standard. Communicate any problems or obstacles to immediate line manager. Support your shift colleagues in achieving excellence in health and safety, product quality, asset performance and employee engagement on shift.Your core responsibilities.
- Take responsibility for your own Health & Safety and the safety of your team, maintaining high housekeeping standards and following PPE requirements at all times.
- Operate the weighbridge and complete all relevant shipping documentation.
- Supervise Logistics Operators, ensuring safe and timely loading/unloading, correct material storage, and sampling when required.
- Perform checks on product storage silos and complete associated documentation.
- Conduct daily FLT safety inspections, report defects, arrange repairs promptly, and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain general housekeeping in material storage areas, the yard, and car park.
- Participate in near-miss/hazard reporting, attend Tool Box Talks, and complete required operational and safety training.
- Adhere to company break and smoking policies, prohibit use of mobile phones or listening devices in plant areas, and undertake any other reasonable tasks as required.
Basic Health & Safety knowledge within an industrial or warehouse environment. - Previous Team Leader or Supervisor experience, with strong people management skills.
- Forklift Truck licence and experience (training provided if required).
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise, give clear verbal/written instructions, and work effectively within a team.
- Flexible, self-motivated, patient, and adaptable with a focus on maintaining safety and morale.
