Job description

Rullion has an opportunity for a Logistics Stores Operator to work with a high-profile rolling stock company in Glasgow on a long-term contract. FLT Counterbalance & Reach forklift licenses, along with SAP or other stores software management experience, are required.

Location: Polmadie Train Care Centre - Glasgow.

Duration: One year, with potential extension based on client requirements.

Hours: Average of 37 hours per week.

Shift Pattern: Between 07:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday.

Rates:

  • First 12 weeks - £22.67 per hour (PAYE) or £28.91 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Post 12 weeks - £25.73 per hour (PAYE) or £34.63 per hour (Umbrella)

PPE will be provided by Rullion. This role is subject to strict Drugs & Alcohol policies and will require D&A testing prior to assignment.

Role: Work as part of the UK Logistics organisation, providing professional materials operational support. Key duties include receiving, controlling, and delivering materials to meet deadlines, performing general stores duties, and utilizing processes to ensure excellent service to internal and external customers. Use initiative and experience to improve processes in cost and service.

General Duties:

  • Ensure the store is safe to operate within daily.
  • Comply with Health and Safety procedures, identify hazards, and follow safe working practices, including H&SAWA and COSHH.
  • Follow all Supply Chain Procedures.
  • Operate FLT for operational support.
  • Maintain stock within Lean Lifts, including goods issue, receipt, return, and shelf location management.
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy (5S).
  • Manage Safety Critical Stock Levels, handle demands, and address quality and cost issues.
  • Maintain Kanban bins for lineside material supply.
  • Support daily conference calls as required.
  • Control calibration equipment, including dispatch, delivery, and record updates.
  • Use Microsoft Office for administrative tasks such as emails, spreadsheets, presentations, and documentation.

Goods In:

  • Unload materials using manual handling techniques.
  • Check quality and quantity against documentation.
  • Log and process delivery issues via NCR.
  • Receive materials into management systems, process serialized parts, and ensure proper location identification.
  • Secure parts over 20kg with labels.

Auditing and Stock Management:

  • Conduct planned and unplanned stock audits.
  • Maintain accurate stock data and locations.
  • Audit line-side locations for replenishment.
  • Transact stock within management systems.
  • Perform safety audits and address issues.
  • Ensure parts are stored per quality procedures.
  • Reconcile repairable stock, manage returns, and control safety-critical parts.

Dispatch:

  • Produce transport documentation and book courier services.
  • Label and check outbound packaging.
  • Load outbound materials safely.
  • Secure and package goods properly, obtain proof of delivery.
  • Deliver materials to points of use and coordinate transfers between sites.

Material Returns:

  • Create accurate return documentation.
  • Pick, pack, and label returned materials.
  • Use SAP or Maximo for configuration activities.
  • Generate NCRs and RMAs as needed.
