And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The AWS Infrastructure Operation Logistics team is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our expanding team. The role involves reviewing Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels supporting build and repair activities.

If you are interested in diving deep into inventory consumption, control, and accuracy, we’d like to meet you. Your work will ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed data center operational service levels by helping operate the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.

  • Complete manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, and arranging shipments; handle incoming shipments, unpack, and verify contents.
  • Load and unload large equipment using pallet jacks.
  • Maintain accountability of stock components, receive, and process inbound shipments.
  • Assist with requests to maintain proper stock levels across locations for build and repair activities.
  • Create plans with the Logistics Manager to optimize parts flow and delivery, tracking inventory locations and movements.
  • Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries accurately and promptly.
  • Work with Procurement teams to ensure inbound equipment orders are complete and correctly delivered.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and clarify business requirements.
  • Support a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and distribute to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.
  • Transport parts, racks, and equipment between locations, including localized driving.
  • Handle sensitive or classified materials.
  • Work around moving mechanical parts and in various environments, including office settings.
A day in the life
  • Work onsite at a data center.
  • Perform data entry, resolve peer queries, and maintain metrics dashboards and reports.
  • Ensure billing accuracy related to the supply chain.
  • Assist with daily delivery and pickup scheduling.
  • Keep detailed records of all commodities handled.
  • Perform physical activities like pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching.
  • Move around the site, use tools and equipment, and maintain safety standards.
  • Work in noisy environments and potentially in varied weather conditions.
  • Be prepared for overtime as needed.
