Job description

The Key Accounts Team is pivotal in building strong relationships with key accounts and sector customers. This role involves addressing enquiries, providing support, and ensuring customer needs are effectively communicated across the Customer Logistics Teams.You will collaborate closely with internal teams to develop efficient shipment solutions, ensuring a seamless handover to logistics for flawless execution.

The Key AccountsSpecialist will manage communications between internal stakeholders and the customer, one of our top global accounts,and draw on their experience in freight forwarding to ensure that data received from Biocair’s customer portal Biocair Connect is accurate, and properly utilized in the Solution Design process. This will include shipment routing, commodity classification, packaging selection, customs value, harmonized tariff codes, and dangerous goods classifications.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Enter fully and accurately shipment data received from Biocair’s customer portal and from email requests into the transportation management system, ensuring that the following aspects of shipment design are fit for purpose.
  • Adherence to shipping rules and regulations set internally and externally initiates shipment and handoff to Import Team, Export Team, or Control Tower Team.
  • Monitor shipment status and regularly notify customer of shipment milestones, highlighting exceptions, schedule changes, or delays immediately.
  • Manage communication between Biocair Teams and third-party vendors regarding shipment details, clearance instructions, documentation changes, and necessary licenses/permits.
  • Record details regarding shipment deviations and supplier non-conformance in transport management system.
  • Identify and capture all exception expenses incurred in operations and in shipment deviations, ensuring full transparency and appropriate cost allocation.
  • Act as a Data Steward for customer account and contact information in transportation management system, ensuring quality and accuracy by formatting and cleaning data received by customers and the customer portal per standards set by the Country Key Accounts Manager.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage changing shipment deadlines.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Teams.
  • Experience in logistics and freight forwarding industry is highly desirable.
  • An educational background in Science is highly desirable.

Please note this is a full time role, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30 based onsite at our Cambridge office (CB22 3EG).
