Job summary

Walker Filtration is seeking a Logistics Engineer to drive end-to-end material flow improvements from supplier through production. You will design efficient warehouse layouts, optimise storage and movement, and lead replenishment, picking and kitting initiatives on the shop floor to reduce waste and inventory costs.

You will collaborate with procurement, planning, manufacturing and quality teams to deliver sustainable logistics solutions and KPIs across the site, while applying Lean and CI

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in logistics, warehouse, supply chain, manufacturing engineering or a continuous improvement role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of warehouse optimisation, material flow improvement and process redesign.
• Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Strong inventory management and material control knowledge, with ERP and/or WMS experience.
• Working knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone and PDCA.
• Experience working directly with suppliers on packaging, delivery and material presentation.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Analyse and improve material flow from suppliers through to point of production consumption.
• Design and implement efficient warehouse layouts, storage systems and material movement processes.
• Drive best-practice line feeding, replenishment, picking and kitting methodologies.
• Reduce non-value-added activity - transportation, waiting time, excess motion and inventory.
• Support warehouse expansion, relocation or reconfiguration projects as required.
• Lead CI projects using Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods.
