Job: Logistics Operator

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Logistics team. As a Logistics Operative, you will work as part of a team servicing production, picking and packing finished goods and raw materials, ensuring the highest standards of service are delivered in line with business and customer requirements.

Your key duties will include:

  1. Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. Operate warehousing equipment safely, including forklift trucks, to carry out your duties. Identify and promptly report any problems or faults relating to your area or any other area of your responsibility.
  2. Ensure shift handover document is filled and signed after each shift and at the start of the shift, and placed in the ‘Shift Handover sheets’ tray in the Logistics office.
  3. Operate from hall 3: scan and unwrap pallets, issue film to the presses in line with order requirements and the print plan.
  4. Take responsibility for removing all RTS reels from the print presses, weigh and record the weight, strap, and place in the RTS holding location.
  5. Empty all bailers and skips on the factory floor, ensuring the strap is weighed and all waste is removed to the waste holding location outside.
  6. Empty the cardboard skip on the shop floor, remove unused cores, and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
  7. Remove, weigh, and record used setup reels from print and conversion, disposing of them in waste skips outside.
  8. Keep Hall 3 and the yard clean and tidy, brushing walkways and removing debris.
  9. Wrap, strap, and book in finished goods.
  10. Manage pallet stocks, ensuring used pallets are removed, stock levels are maintained, and interleaves are restocked.
  11. Store pallets safely and efficiently.
  12. Load and unload deliveries using forklifts or pallet trucks, log deliveries, and ensure documentation is properly handled.
  13. Support colleagues and carry out additional duties as required.

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Licensed forklift truck driver – Counterbalance, Bendi & Powered Pallet Trucks.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience in a busy manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Basic administration and record-keeping skills.
  • Computer and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards in production.

The site operates a 24/7 shift system over a four-week pattern, including days, nights, and weekends. The role involves 12-hour shifts across this pattern.
