Job description
Overview

As a Logistics Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of site logistics—overseeing the storage, handling, and dispatch of materials in accordance with our standards for customer service, health and safety, environmental compliance, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Store goods safely in both warehouse and compound areas
  • Pick customer orders accurately from pick lists
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles
  • Assist Production in varied tasks e.g. decanting products
  • Stock rotation
  • 5S
  • Prioritise workload to ensure delivery deadlines and KPIs are met
  • Deliver and support best practice standards
  • Assist with stock checks and cycle counting activities
  • Ensure correct segregation of waste streams
  • Manage parcel deliveries to and from office areas
  • Support in developing and reviewing SOPs and risk assessments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, including audits, stock segregation, and rotation
  • Manage returnable IBCs
  • Participate in daily tier meetings and contribute to housekeeping and 5S practices
  • Support Production with tasks such as decanting and loading
Qualifications
  • GCSEs including Maths and English
  • Valid Forklift Truck license
  • Demonstrable understanding of logistics operations
  • Knowledge of HSE&S regulations, including Carriage of Dangerous Goods
  • Comfortable handling hazardous substances
  • Numerate and capable of working with and presenting data
  • Effective communication skills across operational teams
  • Strong customer focus and team collaboration
  • Experience with paints or chemicals is advantageous
  • Familiarity with AkzoNobel's company values and behaviours
