Job Description

Our client is looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to oversee logistics, warehousing and transportation services. Based in Hertfordshire, this is a hands-on leadership role that requires strategic thinking, operational expertise and a customer-focused mindset. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the logistics operation to include; warehousing, transportation and pallet network distribution.
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans to optimise efficiency, reduce costs and improve service levels.
  • Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring smooth handling of inbound and outbound stock.
  • Optimisation of pallet routing, load planning and vehicle utilisation to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory control, minimising discrepancies and maximising storage efficiency.
  • Implementing best practice for stock management, order fulfilment and space optimisation.
  • Providing coaching, training and performance management to enhance team efficiency.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport laws, H&S regulations and industry standards.




The Successful Applicant

The Logistics Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Hertfordshire and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Proven experience in leading warehouse operations, ideally within a 3PL environment.
  • Strong leadership and operational management experience.
  • Knowledge of transport operations including; transport planning and freight management.
  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and organisational skills.
  • Experience of BRC accreditation would be advantageous.
