The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands, and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Somerset. We are looking to complement, scale, and grow our R&D facilities in Abingdon and Coventry with the brightest minds from within the battery and EV sector.

Our battery technology roadmap is based on a foundation of world-class solutions for multiple applications. Collaborating with our technical partners, we are industrialising best-in-class high-energy density and long-lasting battery cells. We are also committed to developing the next generation of battery technologies.

Can you help pioneer innovative battery solutions of the future?

We are recruiting an experienced Logistics Operation Manager to play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing inbound and outbound logistics processes, freight management, and customs operations. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring the seamless flow of goods, efficient transportation, and compliance with customs and regulatory regulations. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong operational expertise, and effective team management skills to drive the success of supply chain operations.

This is a hybrid working role based in our Coventry office.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Logistics Management
  • Oversee and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing, fulfilment, and delivery to meet customer demands.
  • Monitor transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize cost efficiency and delivery timelines.
  1. Freight Management
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with freight carriers, forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure competitive rates and reliable services.
  • Plan and coordinate the movement of goods, including route planning, scheduling, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time deliveries.
  1. Customs and Regulatory Compliance
  • Lead customs clearance processes, ensuring adherence to all relevant customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade compliance standards.
  • Prepare and review customs documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  1. Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as transportation delays, customs issues, and regulatory changes, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in supply chain operations, logistics, and customs management.
  • Proficient in Supply Chain systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Lists).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Problem-solving and a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges.
  • Project management skills to lead process improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Expertise in logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with third-party transport and logistics providers.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically while focusing on day-to-day operations.

What you’ll get…

We continue to review the market to deliver a competitive benefits package, which currently includes private healthcare, a car allowance, a company bonus, an enhanced parental leave policy, and a cash allowance to boost your benefits. We are a flexible business committed to promoting work-life balance, partnering with Yulife to provide our team members with total wellbeing support.

You’ll work in a rapidly scaling environment as a subsidiary of the multinational corporation Tata Sons, helping to build the UK’s biggest battery manufacturing facility and make your mark in a new organization.
