We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Manager to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project at our new site in Redcar.
Role Purpose
- To manage, lead, and control the BBK project logistics requirements, working inclusively with the wider BB logistics team to ensure a coordinated approach.
- To oversee project logistics, advise Project Managers, and ensure the successful management of site logistics across a large-scale project.
- To manage project contractors and suppliers, ensuring their integration and the successful handling of all site logistics.
- To meet customer specifications regarding safety, quality, and schedule, ensuring all risks and project objectives are met.
What you'll be doing
As a Logistics Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily logistics operations supporting construction activities.
- Monitoring budget, costs, and resource utilization.
- Procurement of packages to meet logistical needs with supply chain partners.
- Ensuring safe and coordinated large or complex shipments.
- Conducting safety and environment tours.
- Leading risk reviews and maintaining the Project Risk Register.
- Managing subcontractors and monitoring progress.
- Developing and monitoring short-term programs aligned with the overall project schedule.
- Planning logistics for materials, resources, and supply chain delivery.
- Establishing processes for logistics management, including KPI reporting.
- Tracking quality, stock levels, delivery times, and transport costs.
- Conducting site audits and implementing improvements.
- Supporting operational target program development.
- Leading weekly performance review meetings.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities and experience are required:
- Proven experience managing logistics in a construction environment, preferably on large-scale projects such as Oil & Gas.
- Experience in transportation, offloading, and distribution of large goods and equipment.
- CSCS and SMSTS qualifications; willingness to become First Aid qualified.
- Decisive, solution-oriented approach with strong presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Leadership skills with experience managing a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of accident/incident investigation, health & safety legislation, and temporary works regulations.
- Experience setting and managing targets within budgets.
- Ability to develop realistic programs and track progress proactively.
- Skills in cost recovery and project record management.
