Logistics Manager - 12 month fixed term contract

Alliance is looking for a Logistics Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity commencing May/June 2025.

As the Logistics Manager, you will manage and run the 3PL and 4PL Logistics and Inventory functions servicing the UK, EMEA & global businesses, contributing to supply chain performance and strategy objectives.

You will manage a team of five and be based at our UK headquarters in Chippenham, working two days a week in a hybrid full-time (37.5 hours/week) fixed-term role.

Ideal candidate experience includes:

  • Experience with 3rd party logistics contractors, preferably from a consumer healthcare, pharma, or FMCG background.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience driving initiatives and efficiencies within a global logistics framework.
  • Capability to navigate logistics transformations successfully.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Main responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the global logistics strategy, managing the budget effectively.
  • Manage logistics service contracts with partners such as Alloga UK/FR, RHL US, CEVA, Kuehne & Nagel, Gefco, among others.
  • Lead and develop the Logistics & Stock Control teams in the UK.
  • Identify, implement, and oversee logistics and inventory activities, KPIs, continuous improvements, cost projects, and support for acquisitions.
  • Manage stock control and reconciliation activities.
  • Represent logistics needs in projects like ERP development.
  • Ensure logistics operations comply with Good Distribution Practice and regulations.
  • Provide expertise for daily operations and special projects like product launches.
  • Maintain compliance with transportation, customs, and trade laws, and stay updated on regulatory changes.
  • Monitor health, safety, and environmental standards across the supply chain.
