Logistics Manager

Millers Vanguard are seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the efficient management of our vehicle fleet & warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all road vehicles are operated in a safe and compliant manner in relation to legislative, manufacturer and company standards and for stock management of all parts and equipment held within our warehouses.

Main duties & key responsibilities

Fleet

• Deliver the required day to day operations of Millers Vanguard Road Fleet Management activities relating to delivering a safe and compliant fleet. These include MOT and safety inspections, servicing, modifications, speeding and parking notices.
• Deliver the required support to maintain a safe and compliant defined road fleet in line with current legislation.
• Deliver the required support functions to company drivers assigned relating to driver training, fuel card, insurance, servicing and short-term hire arrangements as well as other numerous other services.

Stock Management

• Oversee stock levels to ensure accurate stock levels are always maintained.
• Implement robust stock control measures, including inventory checks, reconciliation, and reducing stock discrepancies.
• Optimise warehouse storage systems and layout for improved efficiency.
• Manage the receiving, inspection, and processing of deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate and track returns to suppliers or customers, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate and track product warranty protocols and exchanges.
• Work closely with the procurement team to forecast and manage stock requirements.
• Identify opportunities to optimise warehouse and procurement costs without compromising on quality or service.
• Implement strategies to reduce waste and improve warehouse operational productivity.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:

• Knowledge of road fleet management.
• Knowledge of fleet day to day operations.
• Able to work under pressure with a continuous focus on delivery.
• Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication skills.

Desirable:

• Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Haulage Transport Manager.
• Relevant qualifications in supply chain management/logistics.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in warehouse operations.
