Millers Vanguard are seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the efficient management of our vehicle fleet & warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all road vehicles are operated in a safe and compliant manner in relation to legislative, manufacturer and company standards and for stock management of all parts and equipment held within our warehouses.
Main duties & key responsibilities
Fleet
Deliver the required day to day operations of Millers Vanguard Road Fleet Management activities relating to delivering a safe and compliant fleet. These include MOT and safety inspections, servicing, modifications, speeding and parking notices.
Deliver the required support to maintain a safe and compliant defined road fleet in line with current legislation.
Deliver the required support functions to company drivers assigned relating to driver training, fuel card, insurance, servicing and short-term hire arrangements as well as other numerous other services.
Stock Management
Oversee stock levels to ensure accurate stock levels are always maintained.
Implement robust stock control measures, including inventory checks, reconciliation, and reducing stock discrepancies.
Optimise warehouse storage systems and layout for improved efficiency.
Manage the receiving, inspection, and processing of deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
Coordinate and track returns to suppliers or customers, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with company policies.
Coordinate and track product warranty protocols and exchanges.
Work closely with the procurement team to forecast and manage stock requirements.
Identify opportunities to optimise warehouse and procurement costs without compromising on quality or service.
Implement strategies to reduce waste and improve warehouse operational productivity.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, we would like you to have/to be:
Knowledge of road fleet management.
Knowledge of fleet day to day operations.
Able to work under pressure with a continuous focus on delivery.
Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Strong communication skills.
Desirable:
Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Haulage Transport Manager.
Relevant qualifications in supply chain management/logistics.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in warehouse operations.
