PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the warehouse and distribution for our chilled, frozen, and ambient products in the Econofoods Distribution Centre in Edenvale (Johannesburg). The successful candidate will ensure the smooth flow of goods from our distribution centres to retail stores and foodservice/wholesale customers, optimizing processes for efficiency, managing the team for optimal performance, and maintaining the integrity of temperature-sensitive products. Strong collaborative and management skills, a focus on inventory control, and customer-centricity are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement regional logistics strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Warehouse Management:
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Distribution:
  • Coordinate transportation and optimize delivery routes and schedules.
• Quality Assurance and Safe Work Practices:
  • Implement quality control and food safety measures throughout the supply chain.
• Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to regulations related to temperature-sensitive goods and industry standards.
• Cost Management:
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and monitor the logistics budget.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the logistics team, fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaboration:
  • Work effectively with internal partners and supply chain stakeholders.
• Change Management:
