Job summary

Danish Crown UK is looking for a Lead Logistics Operative to support day-to-day coordination and performance of logistics activities, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods. The role provides on-shift leadership and deputises for the Logistics Supervisor when required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
• Experience in supervising multi-shift operations.
• Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse processes.
• Working knowledge inventory or warehouse management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of accuracy across inbound, storage, picking, and dispatch activities.
• Support and oversee goods receipt, checking, storage, and system updates in line with procedures.
• Monitor stock accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and support timely resolution.
• Ensure all handling, storage, and movement of goods meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Act as a point of escalation for operational issues and ensure prompt resolution.
• Provide day-to-day direction and support to Logistics Operatives during the shift.
• Allocate tasks and coordinate workloads to ensure operational priorities are delivered.
• Promote safe working practices, hygiene standards, and adherence to procedures.
• Support onboarding, training, and coaching of team members to build capability.
• Act as the first point of contact for operational queries, escalating where required.
• Deputise for the Logistics Supervisor when required, ensuring effective team coordination and decision-making in their absence.
• Support efficient warehouse operations, ensuring flow across inbound, storage, and outbound activities.
• Monitor performance against plan (e.g. throughput, accuracy, service) and highlight risks.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and ways of working.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and wider teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
