Help Deliver One of the UK’s Largest Industrial Transformations

Project Invictus is at the heart of Tata Steel’s ambition to build a greener, more efficient future. As we move forward with the construction of the UK’s largest electric arc furnace, we’re looking for a Logistics Lead to support the safe, timely and cost-effective movement of materials, equipment and services into and around the Port Talbot site.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in one of the most significant infrastructure projects in a generation, contributing to the delivery of a £1.25 billion transformation programme that will reshape the future of steelmaking in the UK.

What you will do

As the Logistics Lead, you’ll provide day-to-day oversight of logistics operations for all Project Invictus contractors and suppliers. Working closely with the wider logistics and site teams, you’ll manage and coordinate deliveries, storage, vehicle movements, and internal traffic flow to support project success.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing site access, laydown areas and haulage coordination for multiple contractors
  • Managing safe loading/unloading and equipment movements across site
  • Liaising with Tata Steel, contractors, procurement, and transport teams
  • Maintaining site records, delivery schedules, and permit compliance
  • Supporting site access control and vehicle/people movement planning
  • Contributing to the development of logistics strategies for EAF construction

This is a site-based, practical role that will see you working closely with cross-functional teams, solving problems, and helping keep the project on track.

What you will need

We’re looking for a logistics professional who thrives in a busy, high-stakes environment. You should be proactive, hands-on, and highly organised with a strong understanding of construction logistics and site movement planning.

You’ll need:

  • Experience in logistics, materials movement or site operations, preferably in a construction or heavy industry environment
  • A practical understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
  • A collaborative mindset with attention to detail and a calm approach under pressure

Project logistics or experience supporting major capital projects would be advantageous.
