Qualifications

Job description

As the Logistics Inventory Coordinator, you will manage internal component movements and maintain perpetual inventory accuracy within our ultra-low-volume, high-precision production environment. You’ll ensure that all parts needed for vehicle manufacture and customer service are available in the right quantity, quality, and location—supporting world-class efficiency, lean principles, and continuous improvement across GMA.

Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular perpetual inventory (PI) counts, investigate variances, and update the Stock Management System accordingly.
  • Participate in stock investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent inventory inaccuracies.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and inventory management processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the stores and material handling areas, reinforcing lean practices across all shifts.
  • Analyse logistics performance data and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Support the accuracy of stock levels, goods receipt, and dispatch processes.
  • Support the implementation and continuous development of stock control systems and cycle counting.
  • Use lean tools (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely (e.g. forklifts, pallet trucks) as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or automotive parts‑store role (preferably low-volume/high-spec)
  • Proficient with Stock Management or MRP/WMS systems (e.g., IFS, SAP etc.) and MS Office—especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of perpetual inventory systems, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise across cross functionally.
  • Lean/6S awareness and a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.
  • UK Right to Work; willingness to work flexible hours and occasional travel included.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle).
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience in low-volume/luxury automotive manufacturing or logistics.
