Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking an experienced Logistics Development Coach to support learners through induction to end-point assessment. The role involves classroom and workplace coaching, with a focus on developing others in the logistics sector.

You will act as the main contact for learners, mentors and employers, delivering coaching, IAG and training to meet employer and learner needs while ensuring compliance with off-the-job requirements.

Qualifications

  • Five years’ LGV driving experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and coaching ability.
  • Functional Skills English and Maths at level 1 or above.
  • Knowledge of apprentice assessment and workplace coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for learners, mentors and employers throughout the programme.
  • Deliver quality coaching, support and information, advice and guidance to meet needs.
  • Ensure supervisors and mentors understand assessment and off-the-job processes and escalate issues when needed.
  • Conduct learner milestone reviews and track progress against required skills and behaviours.
  • Analyse data to monitor performance against targets and maintain off-the-job logs.

Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm

Home based with travel when required

About the role

As a Logistics Development Coach, you will be responsible for the management of the learner's journey from induction to end-point assessment, making sure that all training is completed to a high level and in line with individual learning plans. This will include classroom and one-to-one coaching in the apprentice's workplace.

This customer-facing role will be a great fit for someone with a passion for developing others. If you have outstanding communication and administrative skills with a desire to share your knowledge and experience within the logistics sector, this is the role for you.

Day-to-day duties
  • To act as the main point of contact for learners, mentors and employers throughout the programme of learning.
  • To deliver quality coaching, support and IAG to meet employer and learner needs. This includes coaching mentors to deliver appropriate training to the apprentice.
  • To ensure relevant workplace supervisors and mentors are familiar with the assessment/monitoring/off-the-job process and **escalate** issues where relevant.
  • Establish and review barriers to learning and appropriately plan to overcome these, ensuring relevant delivery is adapted to meet learner needs.
  • To conduct highly effective learner milestone reviews which accurately captures the progress of learners against the skills, knowledge and behaviours relevant to the standard.
  • To access and analyse data available to determine performance against independent learning targets, online learning modules, attendance data etc.
  • Ensure the impact of all training received is captured in the learners’ off-the-job log.
Essential skills
  • LGV category C and C+E licences
  • Minimum of five years’ LGV driving experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maths and English at equivalent of Functional Skills Level 1 or above
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Smart Assessor
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Assessor qualification
