Job description

A permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced logistics professional to join a well-established organisation supporting international operations. This role involves coordinating inbound and outbound freight, managing documentation and customs compliance, and ensuring on-time delivery across various regional hubs including the UK, EU and overseas territories.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Overseeing end-to-end freight and logistics activity, ensuring timely, efficient and cost-effective movement of goods to and from suppliers.
  • Liaising with freight partners to determine the most suitable shipping methods, considering cost and risk factors.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customs and logistics queries, resolving disputes with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and controlling freight costs, exploring opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Ensuring all shipping data is accurate, complete and compliant with relevant internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Handling invoice approvals and manage associated queries.
  • Supporting the broader supply chain function and ensure adherence to import/export and tax regulations across different jurisdictions.

Applicants to this role require

  • Background in logistics/freight coordination.
  • Knowledge of UK customs procedures and experience dealing with HMRC and freight/customs agents.
  • Familiarity with EU regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP.
