Job description

Armley Action Team is a grassroots community organisation based in the heart of Armley, Leeds. We’re passionate about supporting our community, building connections, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, included, and supported. Whether it’s through events, direct support, or practical services, our work is all about making Armley a place where people can thrive.

One of our core projects is YUM, our community pantry and fridge. Open four days a week, YUM provides low-cost groceries and free surplus food to over 200 local families. But YUM is about more than food, it’s a warm, welcoming space where people can stop for a chat, access support, and feel part of something bigger. We aim to reduce food waste, tackle food poverty, and build community resilience through everything we do.

We’re now looking for a highly organised, proactive, and community-focused Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of food into and out of the pantry. You’ll be responsible for scheduling collections and deliveries, supporting and coordinating our volunteer drivers, monitoring stock levels, and managing relationships with food donors and suppliers. You’ll also play a key role in developing new partnerships that help us grow and sustain YUM.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, great with logistics, and passionate about reducing food waste while supporting the local community.
