A leading company in logistics is seeking a part-time Logistics Coordinator to join their logistics team. You will be responsible for coordinating customer orders, planning vehicle schedules, and managing hauliers. Ideal candidates will have geographic knowledge and strong communication skills.

• Knowledge of drivers hours regulations and WTD would be preferable.
• Preference for experience in aggregate or construction industry.

Job description

Our client is looking to hire a part time Logistics coordinator to work in the logistics/transport team, to fulfil internal and external customer orders. This is a part time role of 20 hrs per week - some flexibility on working hours in the day

Reporting to: Logistics Manager / Assistant Logistics Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and coordinating customer orders and enquiries
• Sourcing and managing contract hauliers
• Planning incoming materials, outgoing orders and internal transfers of stock
• Planning and scheduling work for vehicles/drivers
• Utilising the fleet to maximize efficiency of routes and ernings
• Administration associated with invoices, vehicle earnings and drivers wages
• Safe practices
• Managing visitors, all vehicles entering depot
• Promoting the core values of the company

Key Skills

• Able to demonstrate good geographical knowledge (local)
• Excellent communication skills
• Sound numeracy skills
• Proficient use of IT, including Microsoft (Word & Excel)
• Knowledge of drivers hours regulations and WTD Working Time Directive would be preferencial
• Preference for experience in aggregate or construction industry
